These are some of the fun and unusaul places that I have enjoed visiting!

The Mystery Castle

Both the Mystery Castle, and the story behind it are fascinating! Boyce Gully left his family in Seattle. Unknown to his them, he built a stone castle in the desert for his daughter Mary Lou - eighteen rooms, thirteen fireplaces, and many charming nooks and crannies. He died in 1945 before his “princess” could see her “castle”. Mary Lou moved to Phoenix began living her fairy tale. She shared her “home” by giving guided tours of her beloved Mystery Castle. www.mymysterycastle.com

The Lava Cave

On a hot day in Flagstaff, visit the Lava Cave. Dress warm, as the temperature is constant 42° year around. Bring flashlights and batteries, there is not light below ground. The cave's entrance is not easy to find, you'll have to follow the fire roads into the Coconino National Forest. And once you get there, all you will see is a marker and a hole in the ground. But have faith and crawl though the hole, it will open into a fascinating underworld adventure. www.flagstaff.com/lava-tubes
